He was predeceased by: his parents, John Freake and Maude Freake; and his parents-in-law, George and Hilda Brown. He is survived by: his wife Laura; his children, Charmaine (Gary), Troy and Darren (Kerry); his stepchild Sydney (Mike); his great grandchildren, Sarah, Nevaeh, Damian, Rhianna and Garrett; his great great grandchild Scarlett; his siblings, Fred and Stella; his siblings-in-law, Eric Simms, Mary (Fern) and Lorne; and his pets, Pokey, Skipper, Sam, Scamp, Fred, Clifford and Chandler.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Isles Funeral Home. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Central United Church.

In lue of Flowers, donations may be made to the Twillingate Fire Department and The Alzheimer Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.
