He is survived by: his children, Beverly Simms (Hayward), Sharon Powell, Terry Smart (Paulette) and Roxanne Gillard (Anthony); his grandchildren, Shawn, Sheldon, Natasha Aylward (Cyril), Nicholas Powell (Sue-Lynn), Melanie Rideout (Andrew), Megan Coates (Greg), Joshua Smart, Marcus Gillard (Samantha), Tamara Wheeler (Matthew), Steven Smart and Scott Smart; his great grandchildren, Bryan, Abbygale, Scarlett, Ainsley, Nolan, Hannah, Kristopher, Grayson and Carter; his siblings, Shirley Saunders (Fred), Marina Brown (Fred), Carl Smart (Carmen), Eric Smart, Haida Grimes (Llewellyn) and Harold Smart (Mabel); and his siblings-in-law, Phyllis Moss (Frank), Joan Hooper (Glenn), Winston Cutler (Wavey) and Wilfred Cutler (Lorraine). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the St. Mary's Anglican Church.
