He was predeceased by: his parents, Ida Maxine and Obadiah Clarence Barnes (Duke); his parents-in-law, Georgie and John Gillam; and his great-grandparents, Emma, Grant Crocker, Lucy and Wilson Barnes.
He is survived by: his wife Annie; his daughters, Marsha Crocker (Floyd) and Kirston Barnes (Justin Crocker); his granddaughters, Chantel Samson (Bryan) and Brittany Maynard; his great grandchildren, Sophia and Jaymz; his siblings, Peggy Critch (Melvin), Roddie Barnes (Maude) and Alfred Barnes (Jacqueline); and his uncles, Winston Crocker, Ronald Crocker (Kitty) and Fred Romaine.
