He was predeceased by: his wife Carol Steckley; and his brother Noel Steckley. He is survived by: his daughter Morgan (Robyn); his brother Ken (Pat); his siblings-in-law, Don Furlong (Ann Marie), John Furlong (Linda), Lynn Flaherty (Gerry) and Dianne Hort (Pat); and his close friends, Joanne Reid, Sarah Reid and Seamus Reid-Corcoran. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
Donations can be made in his memory to the Northeast Avalon Food Bank, the Canadian Cancer Society, and the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada in St. John's.
