He was predeceased by: his parents, Stephen and Marjorie; and his siblings, Stanley and Leona. He is survived by: his close friend Olive Davis; his children, Dwayne Wheeler (Pam) of Ontario and Wanda Hinks (Dan) of Ontario; his grandchildren, Daniel, Sarah, Austin, Miranda and Nikki; his siblings, Joe (Jeannine) of Montreal, Nolan of Ontario, Bernard (Caroline) of Montreal, Eileen Wheeler of Montreal, Linda Wheeler (John) of Stephenville, Doreen White (Bob) of Nova Scotia and Debbie Klaudusz (Willy) of Toronto; and also Irene "Reanie". He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.

As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Herman's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
