She was predeceased by: her parents, Elsie Decker and Thomas Decker; her parents-in-law, William and Victoria Saunders; her siblings, Marie Hancock (Fred), Donald and Gordon; her son-in-law Herbert Barnes; her siblings-in-law, Larry Hurwitz, Terry Harvie, Carol Brown (William), Gertrude Barton and Hilda Saunders; and her close friend Fern Lutz.

She is survived by: her husband George Frederick Saunders; her children, Victoria Barnes (Stephen), Stephen (Melinda) and Christopher (Denise); her grandchildren, Erin, Zachary, Francis, Emma and Megan; her siblings, Sybil Hurwitz (Vincent), Maunda Jones (Cyril), Joyce Harvie, Beverly Decker (John) and Rick Decker (Ena); her sister-in-law Violet Decker; and her close friends, Mary Saunders and Marie King.

In lieu of flowers the family is suggesting donations be made to the Alzheimer Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.
