We are sad to announce that on November 17, 2024, at the age of 96, Mabel Kean (St John's, Newfoundland) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Mabel departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Mabel may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Mabel leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her husband Abraham Whitefield Kean; her parents, Effie Ivany-Fifield and Robert Ivany; and her children, Rosalyn, Tony and Keith.
She is survived by: her niece Barbara Barter (Gerald); her nephews, George (Anne), Bob (Cassie) and Doug (Gina); and her great-nephew Noah (Stephanie). She is also survived by nephews, nieces, and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Carnell's Funeral Home (329 Freshwater Rd, St. John's, NL A1B 1C3). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the 20th the Carnell Memorial Chapel (329 Freshwater Rd, St. John's, NL A1B 1C3).
