He was predeceased by: his parents, Ethel Lawton and Louis Lawton. He is survived by: his children, Rosemary (Brian) and Keith (Katie); his siblings, Kenneth (Leah), Louis (Suzanne), Anna (Al) and David (Lisa); and his nieces and nephews, Maria (Vanessa), Patrick (Joanne), Christopher (Jason), Michelle, Andrew (Kelly), Emily, Ben, Charlotte, Paddy and Mari.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Carnell's Funeral Home (329 Freshwater Rd, St. John's, NL A1B1C3). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Anglican Cemetery (329 Freshwater Rd, St. John's, NL A1B1C3). A burial will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in John's name to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada (https://www.braintumour.ca) or the Wooden Boat Museum.
