Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved James Alexander Whitten (St John's, Newfoundland), who passed away at the age of 94, on April 14, 2025. He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Whitten; his parents, Gordon Whitten and Irene Whitten; his siblings, Jean Dominey, Violet Dawe, David and Edward Whitten; and his grandchildren, Yeve Boudreau and Clara Hollingsworth.
He is survived by: his children, David (Liz), Jim (Patsy) and Valerie (Greg); his grandchildren, Deirdre, Ryan (Denika), Jessica (Mitch), Patricia (Melvin) and Sonja (Mike); his great grandchildren, Dominic, Jaxon, Emilia, Alexis, Joanie, Jesse, Isabella, Gabrielle, Logan, Mason and Jayden; and his sister Audrey Reheaume. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 18th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Barrett's Funeral Homes - St. John's (328 Hamilton Ave, St. John's, NL A1E1J9). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Philip's Anglican Parish. A burial was held on Saturday, April 19th 2025 at the St. Philip's Anglican Cemetery.
