He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilson Pynn and Dulcie Pynn; his siblings, Genevieve (Ken) and Scott (Ermie); his parents-in-law, Edgar and Gertrude Best; and his brothers-in-law, Robert Best (Evangeline), Norman Best (Margaret) and Edgar "Bud" Best (Patricia).

He is survived by: his wife Frances; his children, Dianne Hodder (Keith), Donna Verge (Otto) and Wade Pynn (Cynthia); and his grandchildren, Craig Verge (Kim), Mark Verge (Sarah), Katie Hodder (Jamie), Morgan Pynn (Justin), Myles Pynn (Breana) and Madison Pynn (Colby). He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren; extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Lewis' memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
