We bid farewell to Maude Butler of Shearstown, Newfoundland, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on April 14, 2025 at the age of 76. Maude touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Mercer and Violet Mercer. She is survived by: her husband Roland Butler; her son Darrell Butler (Kimberly); her grandsons, Justin Butler (Brittney) and Andrew Butler; her great grandchildren, Grace Butler and Emerson Butler-Caulier; her siblings, Junior Mercer (Donna), Purdy Mercer (Jennifer), Lindy Mercer (Roma), Eileen Mercer (Melvin) and Amelia Keefe; her siblings-in-law, Larry West and Jean Butler; her sister Viney West; her nephew Todd West; and her siblings-in-law, Stephen Keefe, Raymond Butler and Rosalind Mercer (Barrett).
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Slade's Funeral Home (31 Powell Dr, Carbonear, NL A1Y1A5). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Trinity United Church.
In lieu of flowers, as expressions of sympathy donations may be made in her loving memory to the Trevor Smith Memorial Easter Egg Hunt who work and donations continue to help children and families in our local community.
