He was predeceased by: his parents, John Chafe and Louise Chafe; his parents-in-law, Victor and Ivy Chafe; his siblings, Joan, Dorothy, Hannah, Alma and Andrew; and his brother-in-law Ken.

He is survived by: his wife Lucy; his children, Darlene Walsh (Bobby), Louise Hickey (David), Valerie Newhook (Dennis) and Carson (Heather); his grandchildren, Ashley (Matteo), Colin (Ashley), Michael (Glenda), Alexandria (Jeff), Devan (Amalie), Jenna, Jack and Reed; his great grandchild Lennon; his siblings-in-law, Thora Stack (Leonard), Gladys Chafe and Gordon Chafe (Murray Lee); his caregiver Kelly; and also Wendy. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, friends.
