She was predeceased by: her parents, Archibald Janes and Phyllis Janes; and her brothers, Gary Janes and Billy Janes. She is survived by: her husband Melvin; her children, Billy (Michelle), Cory (Niki), Danaka, Jessica, William, Amber, Michael Jr, Brody and Bailey; her siblings, Marilyn Hearn (Rommie), Darlene Poleman (Albert), Tina Janes and Robert Janes (Lydia); and her friend Nita Warren.
