He is survived by: his wife Robert Charles Matthews; his children, Debbie (Guy Marsh) and Bobby (Christina); his grandchildren, Victoria (Ryan), Meghan (Justin), Samantha, Emily, Jacqueline, Olivia, Lil and Bobby; his brother Ronald; and his brothers-in-law, Jim Thorne (Alice), Ken Thorne (Patricia) and Gary Thorne (Kim).

As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robert's memory to The Salvation Army.
