He was predeceased by: his parents, Alice Sparkes (Rodgers) and Roy Sparkes; his mother-in-law Mona Bursey; and his brothers-in-law, Keith and Carl Bursey.

He is survived by: his significant other Joanne; his daughter Lesley-Ann (Duncan); his stepdaughters, Katrina (Denes), Kristy (Jamie) and Chantelle (Gord); his sisters, Sylvia (Alf) and Marion (Glenn); his father-in-law Douglas (Kay); and his sister-in-law Jill (Dave). He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.

As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Les' memory to the Autism Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.
