She was predeceased by: her husband Maxwell; her children, James Hefferton and Maxine Hefferton; her siblings, Fredrick Wheeler, Donald Wheeler and Madeline Wheeler; her brothers-in-law, Frank Burry and Ian Pereira; and her stepchildren, Calvin Hefferton and Bernice Beckett.
She is survived by: her children, Gary Hefferton (Annie Mae) of Lumsden, David Hefferton (Ian) of Kitchener, Brenda Carter (Jeffrey) of Badger's Quay and Madeline Mouland (Glenn) of Newtown; her sisters, Shirley Burry of Greenspond and Sandra Pereira of Pennsylvania, USA; her grandchildren, Eugene, Jimmy, Jonathan, Jena (Carl), Gina, Samantha and Rebecca; her great grandchildren, Myles, Keegan and Hayden; her stepchildren, Mable Sturge (Harold), Lorne Hefferton (Louise) and Arthur Hefferton (Barbara); and her nephews, Christopher Wheeler and Paul Burry.
As an expression of sympathy flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in Ruby's memory may be made to St. Luke's Anglican Church, Newtown or Daffodil Place, St. John's.
