He was predeceased by: his parents, William James Alexander Jr. and Dolly Branton Alexander; his wife Hilda Jean Heath Alexander; and his siblings, Billie Easter Hale and Thomas Earl Alexander.

He is survived by: his children, Jamie Alexander Walker (Steve) of Cartersville, Michael Alexander of Emerson, John Alexander (Linda) of Bradyville and William Alexander (Melissa) of Bradyville, Tennessee. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
