He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Bennett and Gladys Cassell; his son David; and his grandchildren, Emily and Clare.
He is survived by: his wife Joan; his sons, Peter (Maureen) and Glenn (Jo-Lynne Carter); his grandchildren, Madeleine, Alex, Christopher and Justyne; and his sisters, Miriam Moore and Anne Snook (Ron).
Visitation was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Barrett's Funeral Homes - St. John's (328 Hamilton Ave, St. John's, NL A1E1J9). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Barrett's Chapel (328 Hamilton Ave, St. John's, NL A1E1J9).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First United Church in Mount Pearl, NL.
