He was predeceased by: his wife Laura; and his siblings, Howard, Sidney, Alexander and Rosemary Staeben.

He is survived by: his children, Glenn Strickland of Milltown, NL, Bruce (Mona) of Addison, ON, Terence (Bonnie) of Chilliwack, BC and Valerie (Ted Heath) of Springdale, NL; his grandsons, Michael Janine (Isabelle) and Cole (Natasha); his great grandchildren, Felix and Luca; his siblings, Junior (Edith) of Milltown, NL, David (Yvonne) of Milltown, NL, Claude (Mary) of Milltown, NL, Eleanor (Ewald Shaefer) and Nita (Fred Burden) of Milltown, NL; and his sister-in-law Eileen Strickland. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ Church memorial fund.
