He was predeceased by: his parents, Zacharias Simms and Lilly Simms; his brother Ralph Simms; his nieces, Jeanette Herritt and Doreen Baker; his parents-in-law, John and Mary Cribb; and his brothers-in-law, Clayton Cribb and Reg Cox.

He is survived by: his wife Beatrice; his daughter Cora Simms of Marystown; his grandchildren, Renee Walsh (Trevor), Justin Scott (Brenda) and Michael Fewer (Lisa); his great grandchildren, Carter and Sarah Walsh; his sisters, Martha Roberts (Wilfred) of Hermitage and Myrtle Cox of Hermitage; and his sister-in-law Mary Simms of Hermitage.
