She was predeceased by: her husband James Wells; her parents, Lucy Hatch and Alphonsus Hatch; her stepfather Byron Barnes; her daughter Bryde Griffiths (John); her son-in-law Patrick Whittle; her sisters, Marjorie Thornhill and Sylvia Myles; her stepson Frank Wells (Velma); and her grandson Donald Wells.

She is survived by: her children, David (Pauline) of Nova Scotia, Aubrey (Helen) of Fortune, Clyde (Janet) of Nova Scotia, Maisie Matterface (Dawson) of Boat Harbour, Lucy Bath (Clyde) of LaScie, Judy Whittle of St. Bernard and Carmie Oake (Bram) of Marystown; and her sister Hetti Baker of Harbour Mille.

In Rebecca's memory, donations may be made to St. Hilda's Anglican Church.
