He was predeceased by: his parents, Theophilius Stapleton and Victoria Stapleton; his wife Marion; his parents-in-law, Adrian and Hannah Hanrahan; his siblings, Tom Stapleton, Todd Stapleton, Ray Stapleton and Mary Stapleton; and his siblings-in-law, Bertha Coady, Beatrice Hanrahan and John Mealey.
He is survived by: his children, Shawn Stapleton (Cindy) of Marystown and Tracey Quirke (Michael) of Marystown; his grandchildren, Alexandra Shea (Jamie) of St. John's, NL, Felicia Quirke of Marystown, Darcie Stapleton of Marystown and Carly Stapleton of Marystown; his great grandchild Zoey Shea; his siblings, Wayne Stapleton (Stephanie), Walter Stapleton (Judy Follett), John Stapleton (Gena), Brian Stapleton and Leona Mealey; and his siblings-in-law, Joan Dwyer, Maryann Hanrahan, Delores Hannam (Don), Edna Power (Dick), Wanda Cluett (Perry), Sharon Green (Rex), Denise Molloy (Brian), Bonnie Hanrahan, Donia (Robert McCarthy), Shirley Stapleton, Sadie Freedom, Wayne Hanrahan (Connie), Kevin Hanrahan (Janet) and Adrian Hanrahan (Kathy).
