He was predeceased by: his parents, William Hillier and Mary Hillier; and his grandson Brett Hillier. He is survived by: his wife Christine; his children, Renee (Rene) and Gregory (Amanda); his grandchildren, Rebecca, Layla and Brandon; his great grandchild Karsen; and his sister Shirley Bauld. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

As expressions of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
