She was predeceased by: her husband Gerald; her parents, Baxter Stokes and Beatrice Stokes; her sisters, Linda Mills and Phyllis Goodyear (Baxter); and her siblings-in-law, Evelyn Stokes, Jim Stagg and Lorin Mouland.

She is survived by: her children, Gerald of Lumsden, Donald (Joanne) of Lumsden and Bertha Mouland (Michael); her siblings, Edna Stagg of Cape Freels, Zeta Parsons (Aubrey) of Lumsden, Phoebe Mouland of Clarenville, Betty Goodyear (Walter) of Deadman's Bay, Hazel Kean (Scott) of St. John's, Elsie Stagg (Wade) of Brigus Junction, Raymond Stokes (Norma) and Gerald (Wavey Gosse) of Gander; her brother-in-law Rick Mills of Deep Bight; and her grandchildren, Emily Mouland, Kelsei Goodyear, Gillian Goodyear and Drew Mouland. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.

As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Effie's memory to The Goodyear's Private Cemetery Fund, Lumsden.
