It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Marion Joyce Butt of Lewisporte, Newfoundland, who passed away on February 7, 2025, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Gilbert Butt; her daughter Elizabeth Harnett (Betty); her parents, Reuben Harnett and Stella Harnett; her siblings, Gerald, Harvey, Roland, Clarence and Daisy Harnett; her brothers-in-law, George Harnett and Frank Frost; her parents-in-law, George Wilfred and Deitha Mary Butt (Clarke); and her sister-in-law Floella Amelia Merle Butt.
She is survived by: her children, Carolyn (Clayton) and Donny; her pets, Dudley, Kirby and Minnie; her sisters, Alma Frost and Florence Harnett; her extended family, Beulah Gruchy, Edward Small (Betty) and Carrie Coates of Oram's Bethesda Manor; her cousin Edward (Betty Small); her friends, Peg Smith and Norma Jennings; and her nieces, Alma Frost, Nancy Frost and Joanne Frost. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and a large circle of friends and family.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 9th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home (262 Main St, Lewisporte, NL A0G3A0). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Marion's memory may be made to an animal shelter/rescue of one's choosing.
