It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of George Wilfred Menchenton (Lewisporte, Newfoundland), who passed away on January 13, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Alfred and Althea Menchenton; his parents, John Menchenton and Priscilla Hewitt; his wife Hilda; his children, Scott and Marilyn; his grandson Lee; his siblings, Kaywood, Rowena, Ken, Alf, Roland and Norman; and his brother-in-law Eli Osmond.
He is survived by: his children, Wilfred (Paula), Kenneth (Gladys), Murvyn (Peggy), Roy (Ann), Garland (Carrie), Harold (Tabitha), Kevin, Deanna (Herb) and Karen (Kenneth); and his siblings, Pleaman (Joan), John (Debbie), Milton (Marina), Alex (Lillian), Vera (Valmond), Pansy, Madeline (Wayne), Marge (Carl) and Doreen (Don). He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the United Church (49 Norris Ave, Norris Arm, NL A0G3M0). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
As expressions of sympathy and In Lieu of flowers, donations to the Lionel Kelland Hospice, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL will be gratefully accepted.
