He was predeceased by: his wife Jean; his parents, George Whelan and Gladys Whelan; his siblings, Nellie (John Brace), Annie (Jack Squires) and Clarence; and his sister-in-law Shirley Whelan.
He is survived by: his niece Michele (Bob Parsons); his great-nephew Marcus; his siblings, Jim (Jane), Ford and Glenis; and his sister-in-law Vera. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home (262 Main St, Lewisporte, NL A0G3A0). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Matthew's United Church (120 Main St, Lewisporte, NL A0G3A0). A burial was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the United Church Cemetery.
