He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Mitchell and Pearl Mitchell; his siblings, Frank, Bill, Mae and Betty; his daughter-in-law Charlotte; and his siblings-in-law, Jack Yardley, Doug McDougall, Raymond Sceviour, Ted Bigger, Bruno Von Borziskowski, Baxter Rose, Reg Budgen, Ruth Mitchell and Rose Myles.

He is survived by: his wife Esther; his children, Pearl (Andrew Kilfoy), Morgan and Ray (Julie); his grandchildren, Colton, Wanda (Dwayne Penney), Elizabeth (Gordon Schmidt), Sheena (Larry Fitzpatrick) and Morganna (John Cheeseman); his sister Margaret Biggar; his siblings-in-law, Cecil Myles, Elsie Rose, Ruby Mitchell and Florence Budgen; and his close friends, Keith Inkpen and George Brushett.
