He was predeceased by: his parents, John Childs and Elizabeth Childs; his sister Elizabeth; and his siblings-in-law, Wilfred MacDonald and Suzanne Childs.

He is survived by: his wife Marguerite; his daughters, Dianne Humber (Myles), Sandra Russell and Pamela Motty (Phillip); his grandchildren, Angie Russell (Ewan), Andrew Russell (Crystal), Miranda Ford (Grant), Mitchell Motty (Heather) and Robyn Motty; his great grandchildren, Christina, Paige, Maddison and Jaxon; and his brothers, Stanley Childs (Emma) and Howard Childs (Sheila). He is also survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or memorial donations may be made to St. James Anglican Church Memorial Fund.
