He was predeceased by: his parents, Myrtle Gilbert and Douglas Gilbert. He is survived by: his wife Elsie; his children, Barry (Denise), Bonnie Wheeler (Dean), Angela Macdonald (Dean), Penny Sheppard (Dion) and Krista Gilbert (Ivan); his grandchildren, Chuck (Julie), Danika, Deidre (Mykell), Mallory (Andrew), Courtney (Marcus), Caitlin (Tyler), Kurt, Colby, Jada and Cooper; his great grandchildren, Calvin and Scarlett; and his siblings, Rose Bragg (Johnny), Nora Rose (Willis), Douglas Gilbert (Mary) and Ruth Smith (Wayne).
