He was predeceased by: his parents, Alice Hussey and Fred Hussey; and his sister Judy Noseworthy. He is survived by: his wife Nina Hussey; his sons, Glenn (Rosalind), Derrick (Jennifer) and Karl (Candice); his grandchildren, Tameka, Taylor, Danaka, Sykora, Riley and Elliott; his sister Shirley; the mother of his children Jean Hussey; his aunts, Margaret Neary and Helen Norris; and his pets, Pepper, Mocha, Bella and Enzo. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Melvin's memory may be made to Special Olympics, CBS.
