It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Josephine C. Penney of Holyrood, Newfoundland, who passed away on August 1, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Patrick Ellen and Mary Ellen (John); her son Francis; and her siblings, Richard, Paddy, Johnny and Elizabeth (Joe Chafe).

She is survived by: her children, Carmel (Dennis), Betty (Dave), Vera (Jim), Johnny, Mattie (Darlene), Gerard (Norma), Billy (Laura) and Loretta (Philip); her friends, Marlene Penney and Barbara Dunphy; her caregivers, Marie, Patricia, Paxton and Bridget; and her family Doctor Paul. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grand-children, many nieces, nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations in Josie's memory may be made to the Restoration Fund at Holy Cross Church, Holyrood.
