It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Violet Marguerite Benson (Hillview, Newfoundland), who passed away on January 13, 2019, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband William Thomas Benson; her parents, Uriah Churchill and Annie Churchill; and her siblings, Kenneth, Arthur, Douglas, Malcolm and Ethel.

She is survived by: her children, Austin (Evelyn), Lorne (Diane), Inez Durant (Russ), Eldon (Cynthia) and Calvin; her grandchildren, Natalie Benson Goodyear (Dion), Stephanie Freire (Humberto), Pamela Balsom (Mark), Paula Drover (Rocky), Paul Benson (Mila), Kimberley Kieley (Roddie), Peter Durant (Pilar Iglesias), Jill Tucker (Sheldon), Nancy Harkness (Stuart) and Jordan Benson; her great grandchildren, Tom Goodyear, Ana, Charlotte Freire, Alexandria, Ashley, Avery Balsom, Chase Drover, Keegan, Khloe Benson, Olivia Kieley, Lola, Zara Durant, Emma, Evan Tucker, Braden and Jacob Harkness; and her sisters-in-law, Leila and Meta Churchill.
