He was predeceased by: his wife Ella Goobie; his parents, Mary Goobie and William Goobie; his siblings, Verlie, Ira, Melvin and Gordon; his siblings-in-law, Geraldine, Ruth and Harry; and his niece Karen.

He is survived by: his partner Jessie; his partner's son Arthur (Donna); his children, Keith, Cavell (Mario), Marlene (Don) and Kevin; his siblings, Dennis (Linda), Richard (Patsy) and Evelyn; his sister-in-law Trudy; his grandchildren, Jennifer, Christine, Megan, Dylan, Nathan and Mason; and his great grandchildren, Joey, Alexander, Jackson and McKenzie.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
