He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald and Ada; his parents-in-law, Max and Ethel Mercer; and his siblings-in-law, Tom Mercer and Winnie James.
He is survived by: his wife Joan; his children, Ginger (Keely Roberts) of Calgary, AB, Dale Mullen (Darryl) of Kincardine, ON, Cherie Lynch (Graham), Bay and Roy (Kimberlee); his grandchildren, Mark, Sarah and Reanna; his siblings, Gary (Gail), May Fry (Vern Dawe) and Barbara Sheppard (Corey); and his siblings-in-law, Kevin Mercer and Shirley Short (late Pleaman).
