With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Rowena Vera Phoebe Mercer of Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland, born in Point of Bay, Newfoundland, who passed away on May 17, 2024 at the age of 98. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Cole and Laura Cole; and her husband Hugh Mercer. She is survived by: her family, Lord and Saviour; her children, Hughena Rideout (George), Helen Jewer (Gerald) and Clifford (Bernice); her sisters-in-law, Lily Cole, Marjorie Cole-Perry and Hope Cole; her grandchildren, Kimberly Beers (Jonathan), Jason Jewer (Chantal), Susan Rideout, Nancy Blundon (Chris), Rochelle Freake (Cory), Jennifer Keats (Rocky), Stephanie Barney (Lanny) and Pamela Rideout (Matt); and her great grandchildren, Courtney, Matthew, Brian, Katelyn, Dylan, Noah, Joel, Catherine, Landon, Caleb, Haleigh and Sarah. She is also survived by her extended family and friends.
