He was predeceased by: his wife Maisie (Green); his parents, Donald Saunders and Minnie Saunders (Roberts); and his siblings, Frank (Winnie), Carl (Bernice), Bruce (Rhoda), May Earle (Gus) and Ivy Saunders.
He is survived by: his children, Eldon (Patricia), Robert (Christine), Carl (Evelyn), Marion Pilgrim and Pauline Windsor (Mike); his sisters, Jean Mitchell (Robert) and Winnie Heath (Burt); his grandchildren, Melanie Smith (Steve), Michael Pilgrim, Jillian Saunders, Megan Moisan (Jason), Jon-Michael Windsor, Carlye Windsor, Kurwin Saunders, Nikki Gordon (Craig), Andrew Saunders, Cheryl Tulk (Phil) and Eva Clarke (Vaughn); and his great grandchildren, Carter Gordon, Adison Gordon, Mia Smith, James Smith, Oliver Tulk, Elliot Tulk and Sam Clarke.
Pallbearers are Phillip Tulk, Craig Gordon, Jon Michael Windsor, Vaughan Clarke, Roy Blake and Jim Penney Donations gratefully accepted for the Gideon Bible Society.
