He was predeceased by: his parents, John C. Lane and Hazel Lane (Slade); his siblings, Elsie Oldford, Dave, Toby, Harold and Sidney; and his nephews, Danny Lane, Gary Lane and William Lane Jr..

He is survived by: his wife Sharon Hobbs; his son Matthew; and his siblings, Joan Pretty and William Lane Sr.. He is also survived by nephews, nieces and a large number of friends.
