He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Gardner and Gregory Gardner; his siblings, Frances Hurte, David Gardner and Leone Penney; his granddaughter Caitlyn Christine Gardner; his daughter-in-law Michelle Rye-Gardner; and his siblings-in-law, Joan Gardner, Anne Gardner, Shirley Pitcher and Stan Card.
He is survived by: his wife Lillian; his children, Ian, Shawn (Tamar), Rob, Theresa "Teri" and Dawn Penton (Jamie); his siblings, Ignatius "Nish", Arthur (Alberta), Terry, Neil (Janet) and Sharron (Dave Snow); his grandchildren, Samantha, Brett, Joshua and Daniel; his great grandchildren, Nolan and Charlie; his close friends, Harold and Barb Dyke; and his in-laws, Doug Pitcher, Roy, Eleanor Hobbs, Don, Joy Hobbs, Alf, Marg Hobbs and Blanch Card.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Hoskins Funeral Home (12 Earle St, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL A2B1E8). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Alban's Anglican Church.
