He was predeceased by: his wife Mary (Cole); his parents, William Pynn and Eula Pynn (Burton); his stepmother Nellie Pynn (Hill); his aunt Francis; his uncle Jessie Burton; his brothers, Clayton, Edwin, George, Albert, Ivan and Norman; his brothers-in-law, Roy Duder and Leo Barker; and his daughter Doreen Mercer.

He is survived by: his children, Donald, Fraser, David (Daphne), Brent, Paul, Jeffrey (Angela), Christine and Ula Pynn (Trev Barker); his siblings, Lucy Duder, Pauline Barker, John, Bill (Jane) and Charles (Francine); his son-in-law David Mercer; his siblings-in-law, Nellie Pynn, Melvin Cole and Ursula Pynn; his granddaughters, Holly, Kiana, Nancy and Nicole; his great grandchildren, Dava, Mahkai Pynn and Logan Tobin; and his close friend Christine.
