He was predeceased by: his parents, Emeline Hunter (Ralph) and Edgar Hunter Sr.; and his sisters, Ethel, Barb and Lucy.

He is survived by: his wife Diane (Lewis); his children, Charlotte Whiffen (Adrian), Edgar Jeffery, Michelle Verge (Dwight) and Jennifer White (Eric); his grandchildren, Mark, Nikki (Dave), AJ (Sam), Tyler, Jenelle, Joey, Matthew (Siobhan), Jared and Ethan; and his great grandchildren, Elliot, Crew and Harrison.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Lionel Kelland Hospice in Grand Falls-Windsor, in memory of Edgar.
