Violet Payne Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Violet Payne of Grand Bank, Newfoundland, who passed away on July 21, 2021. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Violet Payne to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Downton and Mary Downton; her sister Pheobe Tucker (Ray); her parents-in-law, Andrew and Theresa Payne; and her siblings-in-law, Sandy Payne (Bessie) and Marion Kendall (Angus).

She is survived by: her husband Lewis Payne; her children, John Payne of Grand Bank, Brenda Cheeseman (Wayne) of Ottawa, ON and Gail Butler (Jim) of Kelligrews, NL; her brother Edward Downton (Joan); and her grandchildren, Heather Beduhn (John), Jillian O, Patrick Butler (Kenny) and Emily Butler (Adam).

In keeping with the current Covid-19 regulations this will be a walk through visitation with a maximum of 20 people permitted inside the building at one time.

In lieu of flowers donations in Violet's memory may be made to the Grand Bank Lions Club or St. Alban's Anglican Church.
