He was predeceased by: his parents, John Myles and Annie Myles; his siblings, Ben, Tom Myles, Mary Walsh and Shirley Towell; his children, Irene, Harvey Myles, Samuel and Anita; his granddaughter Samantha; his great grandchild Noah Zaja; and his sons-in-law, Arch Rideout and Christopher Kerfont.

He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Larry (Barb) of Paradise, Jerry (Marcia) of Nova Scotia, Rene (Cathy) of Frenchman's Cove, Sheila Rideout (Ben) of Frenchman's Cove, Christine Kerfont (Gary) of Nova Scotia, Rosemary Myles (Terry) of Nova Scotia, Marie Rideout (Barry) of Frenchman's Cove and Bridget Myles of Nova Scotia; and his sister Gertie Pickrem. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren, and 31 great-grandchildren, sister in-laws, brother in-laws, nieces and nephews; plus extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, in Samuel's memory donations may be made to the St. Joan of Arc RC Church.
