He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Matthews and Stella Matthews; his siblings, Meta Havely and Bob of Leonard; his brothers-in-law, Burt Goulding, David Holloway and Winston Sellers; and his nephew Bob Goulding.
He is survived by: his wife Bernice; his daughters, Pamela Hiscock (Jamie) of Marystown and April Stapleton (Phil) of Fortune; his siblings, Emma Goulding, Henrietta Sellars, Roberta Holloway, Maude Ralph (Jack), Marie Matthews, Levi (Jane), Claude (Maude) and Gary (Carol); and his grandchildren, Haley and Ethan.
In Max's memory, donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House or flowers gratefully accepted.
