He was predeceased by: his parents, Elsie Hickman and Joseph Strickland; and his sisters, Rita Burt, Mae Hawkins and Christine Hollett.
He is survived by: his wife Elaine; his children, Howard Jr. (Melanie) of Paradise, NL, Tracey Hickman (Perry Adams) of Clarenville, NL and Jennifer Haley (Robert) of Flat Rock, NL; and his grandchildren, Zachary, Jordyn, Allie, Julia and James.
