George Prior Obituary

We are sad to announce that on February 4, 2025, George Prior of Grand Bank, Newfoundland passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Prior and Mary Prior; his parents-in-law, Walter and Selina Matthews; his sisters, Linda Felix (Ray) and Emily Crews (Aubrey); and his brothers-in-law, Gil Matthews (Joan), Ray Kivi and Les Northcott.

He is survived by: his wife Hazel Prior; his children, Chris Prior of Grand Bank and Calvin Prior (Sandi) of Duchess, AB; his grandson Owen Prior (Abby) of Medicine Hat, AB; his brother Charlie Prior (Melvina); his uncle Calvin Foote; his nephews, Leo Crews (Jennifer) and Leo Felix (Lea); his niece Paula Crews (Berkley); his siblings-in-law, Marion Bungay (Harold), Phyllis Kivi (Les), Joan Turk (Carl), Flossie Northcott (Calvin), Daisy Brenton (Rick), Millicent Matthews (Dave), Sandra Matthews, Cathy Puncari, Walt Matthews (Dinah), Cal Matthews (Anne) and Melv Matthews (Cora); and his close friend Paul Barter (Makena).

Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, on Thursday, February 6th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Wiseman's Funeral Homes - Grand Bank (48 Marine Dr, Grand Bank, NL A0E1W0). A family service was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 at 8:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 at the Wiseman's Funeral Home (48 Marine Dr, Grand Bank, NL A0E1W0).

In George's memory donations may be made to The Salvation Army Parking Lot Project or The Salvation Army Cemetery Fund.
