She was predeceased by: her husband James Mercer; her parents, John Parsons and Georgina Parsons; and her brother Stewart Parsons. She is survived by: her daughters, Goldwyn and Lynn (Benson Payne); her grandson Byron Payne (April); her great grandchild Brayden; her siblings, Donald Parsons (Vera), Norman Parsons (Doreen), Melita Noble (Stanley) and Eva Langdon (Cyril); her siblings-in-law, Elsie Parsons and Clifford Mercer; and her niece Barbara Rice.
Donations in her memory may be made to the palliative care unit at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander.
