He was predeceased by: his parents, Josiah Dowden and Madge Dowden; his brother Ford; and his in-laws, Frank and Shirley Short.
He is survived by: his wife Juanita Short; his daughter Jennifer Dowden; his sisters, Marilyn Rideout (Bill), Robin Dowden (Chris MacConnell) and Kim Dowden; and his siblings-in-law, Edna Dowden, Bryce Short (Kim) and Rhonda Rodriguez (Romeo).
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 31st 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Oram's Funeral Homes - Glovertown (17 Main St S, Glovertown, NL A0G2L0). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 at 2:00 PM at the St. Edwards Anglican Church - Glovertown (188 Main St S, Glovertown, NL A0G2L0).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alexander Bay Search & Rescue, The Glovertown Fire Department, the Pentecostal Cemetery Fund or the Alexander Bay 50+.
