He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Sweetapple and Blanche Sweetapple; and his siblings, Boyd, Frazer, Reginald Sweetapple and Mandy Sweetapple.

He is survived by: his wife Ruby; his children, Phyllis Higgins (Allan), Bernice Sweetapple, Gloria Younghans (David) and Tony Sweetapple (Kathy); his siblings, Eric Sweetapple (Ivy), Winston Sweetapple (Marion), George Sweetapple (Pat) and Marie Blackwood (Gilbert); and his sisters-in-law, Priscilla, Donna and Janice Sweetapple. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Faith United Church in Glovertown.
