She was predeceased by: her parents, Aloysius Alexander and Olive Alexander; and her brother Aloysius Jr.. She is survived by: her husband Mike; her children, Lorne (Arlene), Brent (Lindsay) and Leann (Josh); her grandchildren, Brent, Samara, Jaxson, Sophia, Natalie and Myla; and her siblings, Eugene (Michelle), Jimmy (Lynn) and Joanne.

In lieu of flowers donations in Bertha 's memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Parkinson Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.

I remember Bertha got so nervous just as we were about to go on stage and i gave her a little push. The principal of Harfitt said it was her favorite part, Bertha and me Mike I also treasured working with you. When I worked your holidays, although I knew, I witnessed how challenging you job could be. Hugs Mary and Dominic”
